Q: Why is the Club transitioning to this new member platform?
A: The 2022/23 Technology Committee conducted a review of Project Laura and determined that it was in the Club’s best interest to transition to Northstar software, also used by many of the world’s top private clubs. This software offers improved capabilities for both members and staff, and an estimated cost savings of $100, 000 per year. Q: When will I have access to the new VC Member App and Website?
A: Members will receive links to access the website and download the mobile app on the day of the platform launch, scheduled for Monday, October 2, 2023.
Q: Will all of my information transfer over from Project Laura?
A: General contact information will transfer; however, members will be required to enter their payment details for billing purposes. Any existing Club event and à la carte dining reservations as well as Minimum Food Charges (MFCs), account credits and gift card balances will be automatically carried over.
Q: Will my personal information be shared with a third party?
A: Your privacy is top priority. Your personal information will only be shared for the purpose of transferring details to your new account on the app and website. Members’ payment information will not be shared and therefore must be manually entered upon initial sign in.
Q: Will I still have access to Project Laura after the new platform has launched?
A: Members are welcome to access their account on Project Laura only until Tuesday, October 31, 2023. Please note that statements, invoices and receipts dated prior to October 2, 2023 will not be available on the new platform and therefore members are requested to download these documents from Project Laura by October 31, 2023.
As of October 2, 2023, online dining and Club event reservations will not be available through Project Laura as they will only be offered through the new platform.
Q: What type of support will be provided to members?
A: Prior to the app and website launch, members are welcome to contact Assistant General Manager Philippe Renaud with any inquiries at philippe@vancouverclub.ca. When the new platform launches, the Club will provide access to a dedicated support team focused on assisting members.
As with any transition, small issues may arise as members and the VC team adjust to this new platform together. The Club appreciates your valuable feedback and patience throughout this process.
